Robert “Bob” Young
Bob Young is a co-founding Managing Director of Mirador Capital LLC. Mirador Capital is a venture capital firm, which offers investors access to a diversified group of proven high-quality venture capital funds that are generally inaccessible to new investors. The firm focuses on venture capital partnerships which invest in both the IT and life sciences industries, broadly defined.

Previously, he was a senior partner and Managing Director at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc., an investment bank. He had corporate finance responsibility for information technology companies. He had previously served as the Managing General Partner of Dillon Read's venture capital funds from 1987 to 1994. During this period the funds invested over $300 million in start-up companies in information technology, biotechnology, energy and financial services. Bob's personally directed investments were among the most successful in the funds, including SanDisk, Tessera, Virtual Machine Works and Team Bank. From 1991 to 1995 Bob was also a Director of Barings Private Equity Partners, a global private equity firm headquartered in London.

Bob started his business career with IBM where, over an 18 year period, he held a number of management and executive positions in sales, marketing, engineering and general management. His last position at IBM was as President, IBM Instruments, a fully integrated global company with operations in the US and several European countries. IBM Instruments' products consisted of a broad range of scientific instruments and real-time scientific computers.

Bob is a founding investor and Director of Tessera (NASDAQ: TSRA), the leading semi-conductor interconnect technology company. He was also a Director of ATI Technologies (NASDAQ: ATYT), a leading producer of 3-D graphics and multimedia products for personal computers and consumer electronics.

Bob has served on the visiting committees of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Chemistry at MIT. He holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from MIT.

Ilia Dubinsky
Ilia Dubinsky, a Partner of the S-Group Capital Management (SGCM), responsible for the Venture and technology investments, oversees the SGCM technology portfolio and is a member of the Boards of Directors in 3 companies (in Russia, USA and Europe).

Before joining the SGCM, Ilia has led business development efforts of International Finance Corporation (IFC, a World Bank Group Member) in Technology and Telecoms in Central and Eastern Europe, with a special focus on Russia. While at IFC, Ilia has also contributed to development of IFC’s Funds Department strategy in Russia and in investments in High Technologies.
Before IFC, Ilia worked as a President and Managing Partner of Cambridge Strategic Advisors, Inc. (USA ), a consulting company specializing in telecom and high-technology industries, advising major private and institutional investors and Fortune 500 clients in North America and Europe on corporate, strategic, operational, finance, pricing, competitive and market issues, and, prior to that, held various managerial and senior consulting positions in TMNG Strategy and CSMG – firms, specializing on consulting for the communications and technology industries.
Before launching career in business, Ilia spent a number of year working for major research institutions in the USA and Russia.

Ilia holds a Ph.D. degree from MIT (Cambridge MA, USA), a M.Sc. degree from CUA ( Washington DC. USA) and a M.Sc. degree from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Moscow, Russia).

Peter Guellmann
Peter currently serves as the Head of NRW.BANK’s Equity Finance department. His tasks include the development and realization of equity financing solutions for mid-sized enterprises as well as project finance for high tech start-ups. He is a venture capital and private equity specialist and founded the NRW.BANK Seed and Venture fund as well as the NRW.BANK small and mid cap fund.

Peter previously served as Project Manager of WestLB’s Equity Investments division responsible for capital goods, mechanical engineering, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and media since early 2000. He began his professional career in the Corporate Finance unit of National Bank AG, Essen, were he advised and financed mid-sized enterprises as a credit analyst and corporate account manager. While working at National Bank AG, Essen, Peter received his PhD in economics at Ruhr Universitaet Bochum.

Joachim Rautter
Joachim Rautter is the Director Investment Management at PEPPERMINT. Financial Partners. At PEPPERMINT he is responsible for investment strategy and portfolio management. He has extensive experience with technology start-ups and coaches more than 40 companies in the areas of bio-, micro- and nanotechnology. Joachim currently serves on the boards of Jado Technologies and Scienion. He is a trained physicist and biophysical chemist and gained his PhD in 1995 from the Technical University of Berlin.

Alexander Kachanov
Alexander is currently leading the development of high performance hands-free sensors for process control in Bio-Pharmaceutical Industry at Skymon R&D – a daughter company of Skymoon Ventures, a high-tech venture firm in Silicon Valley, CA.

A graduate of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Alex started his career as researcher at the Institute for Spectroscopy of Russian Academy of Science. In 1995 Alex joined CNRS – French National Research Center and worked at the Laboratoire de Spectrometrie Physique in Grenoble until 2001 when he moved to California in order to implement the ideas of ultra-sensitive spectroscopy and lasers systems born in the academic research into real life. Alex has close to one hundred scientific papers and more than 20 patents in USA, France, Germany and Russia.
