Alexey Mordashov is the CEO and major shareholder of OAO Severstal, an international, vertically integrated steel producer with a listing on the RTS and the London Stock Exchange. Severstal has a successful track record of acquiring and integrating high-quality assets in North America and Europe. In 2007, Severstal produced 17.5 million tons of steel. Revenues were $15.2 billion and EBITDA was $3.7 billion.

Jürgen Kurb is an electronics engineer with more than 30 years experience in the semiconductor industry. He has held management positions at ITT, Honeywell and Intel, focusing on the development of new market segments in the field of technically ambitious solutions. In 1989, he founded his own company – Micronas in Switzerland.
Throughout the evolution of Micronas, he has held positions as CEO and Chairman of the Board. He managed the international group which included Sales, Marketing and Design organizations in the US, Asia and Europe as well as manufacturing sites for semiconductors, sensors and SAW filters in Finland, Switzerland and Germany. One major milestone achieved was the successful IPO of Micronas on the Swiss Stock Exchange in 1996 with a market capitalization of 290 million Swiss Franks.

 

Robert “Bob” Young is a co-founding Managing Director of Mirador Capital LLC. Mirador Capital is a venture capital firm, which offers investors access to a diversified group of proven high-quality venture capital funds that are generally inaccessible to new investors. The firm focuses on venture capital partnerships which invest in both the IT and life sciences industries, broadly defined.
Previously, he was a senior partner and Managing Director at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc., an investment bank. He had corporate finance responsibility for information technology companies. He had previously served as the Managing General Partner of Dillon Read's venture capital funds from 1987 to 1994. During this period the funds invested over $300 million in start-up companies in information technology, biotechnology, energy and financial services. Bob's personally directed investments were among the most successful in the funds, including SanDisk, Tessera, Virtual Machine Works and Team Bank. From 1991 to 1995 Bob was also a Director of Barings Private Equity Partners, a global private equity firm headquartered in London.
Bob started his business career with IBM where, over an 18 year period, he held a number of management and executive positions in sales, marketing, engineering and general management. His last position at IBM was as President, IBM Instruments, a fully integrated global company with operations in the US and several European countries. IBM Instruments' products consisted of a broad range of scientific instruments and real-time scientific computers.
Bob is a founding investor and Director of Tessera (NASDAQ: TSRA), the leading semi-conductor interconnect technology company. He was also a Director of ATI Technologies (NASDAQ: ATYT), a leading producer of 3-D graphics and multimedia products for personal computers and consumer electronics.
Bob has served on the visiting committees of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Chemistry at MIT. He holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from MIT.
