Comb Laser with 100 GHz spacing - now available for direct purchase from Innolume website

Recently developed and presented at the postdeadline session at the OFC 2025 Comb Laser based on Quantum Dots with up to 24 channels spaced at 100GHz is available now as our standard product in CoC and fiber pigtailed form factor.

Comb lasers are considered to be a key technology for multi-channel data transmission, especially in CW-WDM interconnects for next-generation data centers and AI systems. The presented comb laser generates up to 24 channels with equal 100 GHz spacing, covering a spectral width of up to 2.2 THz.

Thanks to a saturable absorber, the device provides phase locking between modes and doubles the number of stable 100GHz spaced lines compared to our previous designs. This significantly simplifies spectral filtering, modulation, and detection in photonic platforms, particularly in integrated silicon photonics.

Technical specifications:

  • up to 24 channels with 100 GHz spacing (coverage up to 2.2 THz);
  • 20% power conversion efficiency;
  • Low RIN below -130 dB/Hz, suitable for 64Gbps NRZ error free transmission;
  • Continuous-wave operation mode, unlike traditional mode-locked lasers;
  •  Available in Chip-on-Carrier and fiber-coupled packages.
