Optical Isolators
An optical isolator (OI) plays a crucial role in optical systems by preventing back reflections and minimizing internal losses. Innolume offers a diverse range of fiber optical isolators covering the 780-1310nm wavelength range. These isolators can be integrated with any single-mode fiber-coupled device (LD, SLD, SOA, gain-module) purchased from our company. Integration involves characterizing the device with the isolator, and the measurement report reflects the performance at the OI output. To reduce additional losses and prevent feedback, devices can be spliced.
For the 1060-1310nm wavelength range, fiber optical isolators are provided in a compact package (55×5.5×5.5mm) with a maximum input power of 300-500mW. In the shorter wavelength range (780-1060nm), OIs come in a larger (up to 118x37x35) and heavier metal package, using materials that absorb less optical power. Certain high-power OIs can handle input power up to 1W.
Upon request, Innolume provides a range of optical components, including fiber-optic couplers, circulators and patch cords, to support diverse configurations in optical systems.
