We are excited to announce a new O-band distributed feedback (DFB) laser designed for silicon photonics (SiPh) datacom transceivers.

The new DFB laser is built on Innolume’s proprietary quantum dot (QD) platform, offering not only mode-hop-free operation and resistance to optical back reflections, which are two critical parameters for seamless integration into SiPh systems, but also enables superior long-term reliability, making it ideal for high-volume, high-performance deployments.

With a cavity length of 1 mm we strike balance between compactness and performance, providing low-noise operation with a value of relative intensity noise less than –145 dB/Hz, essential for high-speed datacom links. Operating optical power of 70 mW at elevated temperatures of 75 °C and optical power exceeding 100 mW at room temperature (25 °C), make the new DFB robust and suitable solution for thermally constrained environments.

Offering the new DFB laser Innolume GmbH underscores the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of photonic integration through QD innovation, providing compelling solution for manufacturers and system designers seeking to scale datacom systems without compromising performance.
