New publication on bidirectional high-speed transmission using QD-SOA
We are pleased to announce that a new research article titled “Bidirectional 100G/150G Amplified Transmission With a QD-SOA for Future Passive Optical Networks” has been published in IEEE Photonics Technology Letters.

This work demonstrates a high-speed bidirectional optical access link using a quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier (QD-SOA). Experimental results show 100 Gbit/s uplink and 150 Gbit/s downlink PAM-4 transmissions over 20 km of fiber, achieving power budgets of 32.3 dB and 29 dB, respectively. These findings confirm the suitability of QD-SOAs for next-generation passive optical networks, offering efficient amplification and reduced nonlinear impairments.
